Maryville receives EXEMPLARY DISTRICT AWARD and REWARDS SCHOOL honors from TN DOE.
The 2018 District and School award recipients for performance and accountability in 2017-18 were released by TN Department of Education today.
Reward status is the top distinction a school can earn in Tennessee. Reward schools are those that are improving overall student academic achievement and student growth for both all students and for student groups. This category includes the top 20% of schools in the state.
Maryville was one of 14 districts receiving Exemplary District status this year. Under the new accountability model, a variety of measures are used including TNReady scores, absentee rates, discipline, ACT performance, and service to subgroups such as students with disabilities, English learners, economically disadvantaged students, as well as Black, Hispanic, and Native American students.
We are proud to receive this honor and thrilled to include these schools on the REWARDS SCHOOL list for performance and accountability.
